A motivational quote that I often refer to is: Organize your life around your dreams and watch them come true (unknown author).
Watching dreams come true for our many Canadian Olympians has been exciting. Medal or not, they should all be proud for being able to compete at that level. They are all an inspiration.
You can be an inspiration and role model for others too. What are your dreams or goals? Once you figure this out, you are off to a good start, but you will also need to plan. Schedule times in each day to take action steps towards your goals. Tell everyone what you would like to accomplish and recruit their help if necessary. Your follow through and commitment are key.
On your log sheet, include a list of short term achievable goals that will help you to be successful. Check them off once accomplished for positive reinforcement & motivation to keep going.
What ever your dreams are, be proud of your efforts and keep working with determination to make them come true. You can do it!
If you want to lead a healthier lifestyle, you have to incorporate fitness into your daily routine. Research has shown that it takes at least 21 consecutive days of exercising (10 minutes minimum) for a habit or routine to form. Give this a try, do your best and keep a diary or log of your progress. Don't use a weight scale, rather take note of positive mental and physical changes. After 21 days, I hope active living becomes a habit and part of your lifestyle.
